UF Watch: Keep up with crucial news about the University of Florida

It is deeply challenging at the moment to keep up with the things you need to know without becoming overwhelmed by constantly churning news cycle. To help, folks have started tracking, distilling, and passing along the crucial news and analysis within some domain. Examples that I'm thankful for include Making Sense of It All by Liz Neely / Liminal Creations for keeping up with the current events impacting science and 47 Watch by boB Rudis for keeping up with the executive branch activities impacting everything.

One of the challenges of working and learning at the University of Florida is that the administration does not actively communicate with faculty, staff, and students. This is for a combination of understandable and less understandable reasons, but it means that instead of getting timely communication about important things from the university we have to find it via local news sources or group chats. So, I'm going to try to make this a little easier, by keeping up with the key local news sources and posting short summaries of key news items with links to one or more sources.

There's a lot going on and I don't know if I'll be able to keep it up, but I guess there's no harm in trying.
